Some nasty weather made for a really compelling stage today. Rabobank putting down the hammer. The peloton ripped apart. Contador isolated but digging deep to minimize his losses. And ultimately Chavanel proving that he's got a big set of balls to go along with bags of talent. Proper bike racing. Great stuff.

Interesting stuff. The Kaws bike that Lance will ride at Milan-San Remo, I think, looks amazing. People will continue to remain divided on Lance's comeback but for what it's worth I think its positive and when you look at something like this Stages art project, also very cool. If it means more attention on the fight against cancer, more attention on the sport, more attention on bikes in general, what's not to like?

The Monte Paschi Erocia may lack the storied history of other one-day races but it more than makes up for this. Seventy kilometres of sterrati is gnarly and all set against a beautiful Tuscan backdrop. Impossible not to love.

This year's Paris-Nice starts on Sunday. The perfect excuse to post a couple of photos of one of my favourite bike riders.
